Venue

The Quantum Portugal Initiative Lecture Series takes place at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) in Braga, Portugal. This world-class facility serves as the ideal venue for cutting-edge discussions on quantum science and technology.

The INL International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, located in Braga (North of Portugal), was founded by the governments of Portugal and Spain under an international legal framework to perform interdisciplinary research and deploy and articulate nanotechnology for the benefit of society. INL aims to become the worldwide hub for nanotechnology addressing society’s grand challenges.

Operating since late 2010, following an initial investment of 100 M€, INL is currently financed by the member states (30%), competitive funds from Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, and national PT2020 scientific calls (50%), and industry collaborations and user fees (20%).

Our infrastructure provides a high-tech research environment for INL staff and users. It extends over an area of 47,000 m2, with 26,000 m2 of buildings. This includes 7,500 m2 of laboratory space, with high-accuracy laboratories, a cleanroom with an area of 1,200 m2, an auditorium and other public areas over 4,800 m2.
